Holiday Open House at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market

Holiday Open House at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market

The warehouse at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market was awash with holly, greens, and festive floral arrangements for its Holiday Open House this week.  Here are a few photos of some truly inspiring holiday decorations.  Please do try this at home with gleanings from your winter gardens, woods, and trails.

Santa Sighting at Starbucks

Santa Claus stopping by the local Starbucks coffee shop

I was at Starbucks enjoying a cup of coffee and writing a letter to my sister, when Santa Claus walked in!  I never knew he was a patron of Starbucks, but I’m not surprised.  I suppose like many of us he, too, needs caffeine to carry him through the long dark days of winter.

Kudos to Santa for his re-usable cup!

We have a couple of Christmas jigsaw puzzles that we bring out once very few years.  I got them at garage sales.  We set a puzzle up on a small table and work on it, off and on, throughout the holiday season.  It’s simple, old-fashioned fun.

“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.  He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.”
