Euphorbia add a bright spot of chartreuse to the spring gardens in my Seattle neighborhood.

I like the regular pattern formed by the flowers on the euphorbia plant.

Gaily Attired

“Now every field is clothed with grass, and every tree with leaves; now the woods put forth their blossoms, and the year assumes its gay attire.”
     — Virgil

Every day now more new leaves emerge.

Putting forth new leaves

I love the chartreuse color of new leaves, one of the signature colors of spring, I think.

“This fevers me, this sun on green,
On grass glowing, this young spring.”
     Richard Eberhart, “This Fevers Me”
