I find that art and nature make an almost irresistible combination, and the bayside gallery of sculptures in the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge is particularly wonderful.  The outdoor art trail takes you past several sculptures in a natural setting.  Take a look:

This place is new to me, too – thanks for showing us!

Landscape and sculpture are more effectively paired – than others I’ve seen which just look uncomfortable together. The frogs especially are a delight!

We’re far behind you when it comes to the development of natural spaces, I’d say — with or without art. On the other hand, you can only walk through so much coastal prairie before boredom sets in for most people. Forests, hills, and mountains touch everyone, I think — and are better settings for art. Prairies are wonderful, and they’re one of my favorites, but they’re not for everyone.
