    When I was in school in Berkeley, one of my favorite bumper stickers was “Don’t Let Your Karma Run Over My Dogma.”

    And, yes — coming back to Galveston from the Bolivar penninsula on the weekend means hoping against hope for good karma. The ferry waits can be two hours. That’s why I try to go during the week.
