I Would Rather Be a Blossom
April 17, 2016
“‘T would ease — a Butterfly —
Elate — a Bee —
Thou ‘rt neither —
Neither — thy capacity —
But, Blossom, were I,
I would rather be
Thy moment
Than a Bee’s Eternity —
Content of fading
Is enough for me —
Fade I into Divinity —
And Dying. Lifetime —
Ample as the Eye —
Her least attention raise on me –”
— Emily Dickinson

Your title brought to mind a Simon and Garfunkle song: El Condor Pasa.
“I’d rather be a blossom than a bee” does have a nice ring to it, even though bees are great, too.

This is beautifully done — as delicate as the blossoms themselves. Just lovely!
