Love the “silence and solitude sign”, retired k-12 librarian speaking – was never that way at work, but it was fun! Now I like the silence and solitude. I live on Samish Is. – you know many of my friends here.
Rosemary, I love the emotion that your images evoke. This post is particularly felt by me because I genuinely love books! What camera do you shoot with? Your image quality is stunning.
What a luxury it would be to have time to spend in libraries again. I do love them so. Your photos capture the atmosphere so well: apart from a noticeable lack of dust and dimness that always makes the upper reaches of academic libraries a feast of a different sort for the senses.

I use a ten-year-old Canon Rebel xTi digital SLR. Thank you for your praise! Made my day.
