The poet Donald Hall calls squirrels “tree rats with the agility of point guards.”  (Essays After Eighty)   How apt these definitions are!

Your sketches are wonderful, Rosemary – so full of humor and personality. You really capture the essence of squirrel here!

    • Rosemary Says:

Thanks, Lynne. I don’t think I am done with squirrels yet. I am really glad I have my photos to use as the basis for my paintings — no worries about “stealing” ideas/copyright, etc. I have lots of squirrel photos, so more chances to paint them.

ooo this seems really detailed! was it more difficult to do? Maybe it’s all in the wonderful sketch!?

    • Rosemary Says:

Pretty much all of my watercolor attempts are hard to do. I’m still a beginner, figuring things out as I go along. Glad you liked the work!

Squirrelphilia: the state of being in love with squirrels. Your sketches evoke that feeling! (Or, I could just say I’m nuts about them.)
