Keeping cool

Keeping cool

“The summer came and went quickly, which is the nature of summer for people who are not children . . .”
— Jim Harrison, Brown Dog

I don’t mind the passing of summer because autumn, which follows on its heels, is my favorite season of the year.  I love sweater weather.

That’s a great quote. Vaguely poignant, if you ask me. Yet, I did welcome yesterday’s rain. The changing of the seasons is always a little bit mourning and a little bit celebration for me.

    I second your comment Rosemary

Well, perhaps – re: the Jim Harrison quotation. For those of us who work outdoors, it can drag and drag and drag, even as the level of anxiety builds for those on the hurricane coasts.

I know I keep bringing it up, but I don’t mean to be moaning and complaining. It’s just such a different world. I try to make up for it all by being patient with northerners when the snows drag on into May.
