Heart-Shaped Leaves

New leaves like burnished gold in the morning light

I pass these trees on my walks to work.  I think they are katsura trees because of their delicate heart-shaped leaves.  I love the dappled colors of these leaves in the morning light.

New leaves of rusty yellow and burnished gold will turn green as they mature.

I love dappled light.

    Yes, that does look like a Katsura tree to me! I have a Little Leaf Linden tree that also has heart shaped leaves. It is my favorite tree…for many other reasons as well as it’s beautiful leaves!
    I’m just happy that there are now leaves on anything to enjoy and photograph! :}

    PS. That third photo is especially nice. I love those back lit leaves with the dappled light in the background!
