On the Streets Where I Live

February 28, 2010

Flowering plum and cherry trees line many Seattle residential streets, providing a beautiful colonnade on my walks and drives.  The full-blossomed trees remind me of the color of the black raspberry ice cream cones we would buy at the dairy bar in my hometown.

“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.”
