Rainy Day Pleasures

Rainy day pleasures -- piles of books

“Heaven must be a place where the library is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.”
     — Flavia, a character from The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley

Yesterday was my day off work, and because it was rainy outside, I did not feel guilty about curling up with some good books.  Right now I have a rather daunting stack of books to read, but I can think of few greater pleasures than reading them, one after the other, with our cat Jellybean warming my lap.

Jellybean warms my lap as I read on the couch.

I notice you have Lorrie Moore’s new book in your stack – have you read it yet? Did you like it? She’s such an interesting writer.

Glenn would have liked the picture of Jelly Bean helping you read-it was a familiar sight on our couch when he was reading.

This looks oh-so familiar to me…except substitute the black kitty with a calico kitty. I’ll have to share a very similar scene with you :).

Do you still have Jellybean? Such a beauty!
