Fishing pole over Snake River

I love the photos of Sandra interspersed with current photos. Dad’s T-shirt is classic!
I need to show my ignorance and ask who Ted Kooser is. The name sounds familiar and I am enjoying the snippets.

One of my favorite college courses was fishing! There was a little lake on campus where there were rumored to be fish. My class met several times a week, and there was one other young woman, Karen, in the class; all the other students were males. The teacher, an old man in plaid shirts and suspenders, never really taught us anything, but set us loose in rowboats for the 50-minute period. Karen and I would row to some quiet part of the lake, cast our rods, and talk. It was very therapeutic, and we each got a B at the end of the semester. I don’t know what grades the guys got, but nobody ever caught a fish…
